Netzgesellschaft Düsseldorf mbH operates a pressure boosting system for the district heating network at this location. As part of the ongoing network expansion and the resulting increased requirements, the system was to be brought up to date.

Our contract included the dismantling of the existing plant, all engineering work for the delivery and installation of the conversion as well as commissioning and trial operation, including preparations for possible bidirectional operation. We were able to complete the work on schedule in November 2023. In just 4.5 months, 4 large pumps and filters, around 50 fittings with nominal diameters up to DN300, around 100 metres of pipe material including insulation, hundreds of fittings, steel construction and platforms, EI&C with control cabinets and complete cabling, crane systems and several hundred weld seams including non-destructive testing were carefully planned and implemented on schedule in an extremely limited space (the underground pump room measures just 11 x 6 metres!).

The cooperation with all partners involved and our customer Netzgesellschaft Düsseldorf was - as always - characterised by a pleasant and professional atmosphere.

Our joint projects in Düsseldorf, the pumping stations at Schillerplatz and Victoriaplatz, are still under construction. Here, too, all work is on schedule and will be completed in time for the start of UEFA EURO 2024.
