First phase of gas turbine modernisation at BASF in Schwarzheide successfully completed

In autumn 2020, work began on modernising BASF's gas turbine plant in Schwarzheide. This involves replacing an existing GE fr.6B gas turbine and the transmission gearbox with an Alstom generator by a new, more powerful and efficient Siemens SGT-800 until October 2021.

So now the first step took place, the dismantling of the old components and the transport to the temporary storage area.

The difficult task in terms of transport was solved well by the ETABO Ost team in Berlin. BASF is satisfied and the next phase of the measure can be tackled.

Here is a small insight into the work that has been done so far (in fast motion): https://youtu.be/6WpW9Tvif2w
